Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026 Applies to: the Superwispr app

Superwispr is a voice dictation app: you speak, the app transcribes your voice, cleans up the text, and offers writing tools (rephrasing, translation, reply suggestions, and more). This policy explains what data we process to run this service, who it's shared with, and what control you have over it.

It describes how the service actually works today, not generic boilerplate. If a feature changes how data is processed, this page is updated to match.

01

Data we collect

We only collect what's necessary to run the service:

Account

  • A unique internal identifier, generated when your account is created.
  • Your display name and email address, when you sign in with Google — email is not collected for Apple sign-ins.
  • The stable identifier provided by Google or Apple (provider_sub), used only to recognize your account on later sign-ins.
  • A session token, regenerated on every sign-in, used to authenticate your requests to the API.

Personal dictionary

The words and replacements you voluntarily add (proper nouns, acronyms, industry terms) to personalize the correction of your text.

Usage statistics

  • Total number of words dictated and total duration of audio processed (aggregate counters, not the content itself).
  • Consumption of your weekly trial quota (words and writing-tool uses) and Premium status.

Reports

If you use the "Report a problem" feature, the relevant transcription excerpt, the language, and your comment are sent to our team for diagnostic purposes only — this feature does not save them to a database.

02

What happens to your voice

When you dictate, the audio recording is sent to our server, written temporarily to disk for the duration of transcription, then deleted immediately after processing — whether transcription succeeds or fails. The audio is never stored persistently and is not kept after the response is returned to the app.

The transcribed and corrected text isn't stored as-is either: only aggregate counters (word count, duration) are saved on your account to enforce the trial quota and your usage stats.

Exception: if a recording contains no detectable speech (silence, noise), nothing is counted and the text returned is empty.

03

Third-party processors

To operate, Superwispr shares certain data with specialized providers, only to the extent needed for the feature in question:

ProviderData sharedPurpose
OpenAI Dictated audio (Whisper); transcribed text and dictionary entries (GPT‑4o mini) Speech transcription, correction, and writing tools (rephrase, translate, reply…)
Groq Dictated audio Alternate transcription provider
Google Sign-In Google identity token Verifying your identity at sign-in
RevenueCat Account identifier, subscription status Managing the Premium subscription purchased via the Play Store

These providers process data under their own privacy policies and API terms of use.

04

How we use your data

  • Transcribe your voice and correct the resulting text.
  • Run the writing tools you trigger (rephrasing, translation, tone change, suggested replies…).
  • Apply your personal dictionary to corrections.
  • Enforce the free weekly trial quota and unlock unlimited use for Premium accounts.
  • Keep your session signed in and secure access to your account.
  • Diagnose the problems you report.

We do not use your dictations for advertising purposes and we do not sell them to anyone.

05

Retention period

  • Audio: deleted from the server immediately after transcription.
  • Dictated/transformed text: not kept beyond the request; only aggregate counters persist.
  • Personal dictionary: kept until you delete the entries or your account.
  • Account and usage data: kept for as long as your account exists.

06

Account deletion #

You can delete your account at any time from the app. This immediately and permanently deletes your profile, session token, usage statistics, and all of your dictionary entries. This action is irreversible.

07

Security

  • Every API request is authenticated with a unique session token.
  • Audio files are written to an isolated temporary directory and erased after use, including on error.

08

International transfers

The providers listed in Section 3 may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. We rely on the contractual safeguards offered by these providers to govern these transfers.

09

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights over your data:

  • Access the data associated with your account.
  • Correct inaccurate information (name, email via your Google account).
  • Delete your account and associated data, directly from the app.
  • Object to processing or request its restriction, by contacting us.

To exercise a right that isn't available directly in the app, contact us (Section 12).

10

Children

Superwispr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us so we can delete it.

11

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the version in effect. In case of a significant change, we will notify you in the app.
